I know this is something we have talked about for almost 5 years now and I have taken my best shot at estimating your impact on the energy savings at FSU. Here you go:
So, I have taken FSU's total electric bill minus outdoor lighting, along with our total steam and chilled water bills because as we know in a central system the impact of your work from an energy standpoint can be greater at the central plants. (Being able to load our more efficient chillers and boilers to a greater extent before starting the next piece of equipment, due to the greater delta T across the heating and cooling coils in the buildings)
Empirically, we have seen savings in the +20% range (Dirac AHU study) and the (UCC AHU Chemical vs. Non- Chemical Cleaning Competition which you won by out performing the most sophisticated and currently available chemical coil cleaning process by +70%).
Even if your impact is only 10%, the Rejuvinair Process saves FSU an estimated $1.74 million annually.
We will spend about $385K on AHU and coil cleaning this year. This will result in a 2.66 month simple payback.
With air handling unit cleaning frequencies anticipated from 6 -18 months this makes me very happy.
Thank you for the great service and making Alan, Jim, and I look good.
